Hi,
I am getting communication error after 3to 4 hours of analysis.
Some time I get out of memory error and analysis gets terminated after 4 hours.
Why these error occur.

Hi,
Some palces you can start looking at are:
What version of HFSS are you using? If not the latest, you should upgrade.
Also, what platform are you running it on? I have found HFSS for solaris to be buggy.
Are you running a really large project that stresses max memory? If so, back off on the solve accuracy (delta-s) or max number of passes to reduce the problem size. I have seen problems like that when you get close to max memory and also you get a huge performance hit when you start using swap space.

HI
I am analysising connectors.
What should be the maximum number of passes that should be assigned to get accurate result??
I have memmory aroud 32gb in hard disk but still it is showing out of memory.

Also some times I get error like communication failure what could be the reson for this??

Thanks

Determine what accuracy you need based on the expected s-parameter values. 0.02 is a good starting point but if you have low return loss values, for example, it may need to be lower.

Don't use your HD for memory. Keep the project in memory. Adjust the delta-S/max number of passes so that what you see in the "Profile" tab uses memory only.

Good luck
